A Word from the League

Hey all,

We are excited that the spring season is in full swing now and we are seeing schools compete on a daily basis. This season is both exciting and challenging, and we truly appreciate your patience as we grow and improve. Just three months ago we were just a ten school group that built a league together in our side time, and now we have 35 schools and 350 people registered! We are making good progress now and are excited that the original mission of getting more kids involved in esports is starting to truly take hold!

So far this season...

Although there were some hiccups to start, and some we are still resolving, over 95% of matches were played in the first week! We owe this success to our excellent coaches and the responsible team captains that work each week to make sure they can play their games. Hats off to you as we know esports leagues put a lot more responsibility on our students than traditional sports.

Also, MNVL continues to be heavily student driven and currently employs seven MN high school students (In contrast, there are only three adults here and two of them are our stream shoutcasters). The kids work to make our league as fun as possible for those involved, and are the driving force behind all our content from social media and designs, to our weekly streams and Youtube uploads.

Plans for the future...

As we look past the State Championship and into summer, we want to make sure there are still opportunities for students but also that we do not add to our already overworked coaches schedules. That is why we are currently putting together student events or "camps" to take place over the summer months. These will range from camps around player performance to those about gaining esports industry skills like broadcasting. We will have some pretty big surprise names that we will be announcing as we get closer to summer. Stay Tuned
