New Varsity/JV Pilot for Rocket League

As our league grows and esports becomes more widely accepted in Minnesota, we want to also grow and provide a higher level of competition for our students.

This season we are piloting our new Varsity structure for Rocket League. All the rules can be found at https://www.mnvl.org/rules but a few key features are listed below:

  • Only one Varsity team per school (unlimited JV teams)

  • Set game times and no reschedules

  • Increased flexibility with substitutions

  • Divisional Varsity playoffs before the State Championship

  • Top 14 teams from Varsity make the State Championship

  • Top 2 teams from JV make it to the State Championship

New Game: Valorant

MNVL will be adding Valorant to its roster of titles for the fall 2021 season.

Valorant has become one of the most popular titles for competitive esports in the last year, and we are excited to see our students compete in this tactical 5v5 game.

New MNVL Interns!

We are happy to continue to provide our students with opportunities to pursue esports careers. This season we are welcoming the following interns:

  1. Stream Production (1): Paid

  2. Social Media (2): Paid

  3. Casting (2): Unpaid

These interns will work with esports professionals (e.g. pro Overwatch League caster DOA will be mentoring and teaching our casters)

If you would like to work with MNVL, keep an eye out on our Discord and social media accounts for future opportunities!
