A Word from the League

Hey All,

We’ve made it through most of the season and it’s been nothing short of exciting! It’s truly anyone’s year in all of our leagues and every week we’ve seen teams/players continually show off their hard work to try to stamp their ticket to the state finals.

In this month’s newsletter, we want to provide you all with more information about the upcoming state tournament, all stars weekend, and a new pages dedicated to our programs and collegiate partners.

Before anything, MNVL wants to acknowledge and apologize to the seniors in our league. We didn’t intend for state to lie on some of your graduation dates and put you in the position to have to make a choice between the two events. This will never happen again to our upcoming seniors and we want to thank you for your time playing in MNVL!

With that important note, we have a lot to share about the upcoming events for coaches and parents in this edition. We hope you’re as excited as for them as we are!

All Star Weekend

The Spring ‘22 All Star Weekend will take place on Friday, May 20th - Sunday, May 22nd on Twitch.tv/MNVL

At the end of the regular season on May 15th, players will be invited to play in the MNVL All Star event for their respective esport title. Teams will be asked based on regular season results and will send one representative from their team to attend the event. This event will be held online and is meant to provide a fun opportunity for our players.

Participants Invited:
- Rocket League (12) - One player from the top 6 teams in each group.
- Valorant (10) - One player from the top 3 teams in each group. The tiebreakers listed in section 1.3 of General Rules will be used to decide the tenth team.
- Super Smash Brothers (8) - Top two players from each group.
- Halo (8) - One player from the top 8 teams.
- Chess (4) - Top four players.
- Minecraft (8) - One player from the top 4 teams in each group.

It’s between the coach and their team to select a participant to attend the event. All Stars doesn’t impact regular season results in any way.

We’ve put a lot of thought into how we can expand this event in upcoming seasons to make the most out of it for our players. Coaches, be on the lookout at our end of year meeting and this offseason as we share those ideas!

New Pages Added to MNVL.org!

The Our Schools page has been added to the MNVL website! This is to show off all the amazing accomplishments our programs have achieved and a way for parents and fans to find playoff picture standings outside of Leaguespot.

This page will be updated weekly to show the progression in standings throughout the season. We plan to improve this page to find unique ways we can share the cool things about our schools! It’s a starting point, but we’re proud to be able to display our past winners and some of the players working hard during the season for parents and friends to follow along with. Make sure to check it out!

The other new addition to MNVl.org is our Collegiate Partners page. The goal of this page is to be a resource for the players in our league interested in playing collegiate esports. This page provides useful information about scholarship offering collegiate programs complete with information about the college and how to get in contact with their program.

We’re excited to start this initiative and build on it to continue to support our students’ endeavors beyond MNVL. We also hope this helps bridge a gap in the current college recruiting process. MNVL committed to helping our players make their jump to collegiate and this is just one of the ways we want to do so.
