State Finals marks the first in-person tournament in two years
Event to take place June 4-5, 2022
Wisdom Gaming, the emerging leader in esports entertainment, announced today that the Minnesota Varsity League (MNVL) Spring 2022 State Finals will take place at Wisdom Gaming Studios at Mall of America. Minnesota high school teams will come together to compete in Halo, Valorant, Rocket League, SuperSmash Bros. Ultimate, Minecraft, and Chess with players and fans getting to experience esports firsthand the weekend of June 4-5.
“We're thrilled to be able to once again host the Spring Finals in-person at MNVL's new home in Mall of America," said Jake Utities, Director, Minnesota Varsity League. "The opportunity for students to compete in such a unique space further helps validate our academic esports programs and gives our students a chance to display the skills they have been learning outside of a traditional sports setting to their peers and family.”
The number of students participating in the league has more than doubled since 2020, with 47 teams participating in the league's seven-game titles this year. MNVL's success would not be possible without their sponsors, the Minnesota Twins, Torrent, and MN Rokkr. Players were able to compete for no charge this year due to the incredible support from these organizations.
The MNVL Spring Finals will take place Saturday, June 4th through Sunday, June 5th, with competition starting each day at 9AM CDT. General Admission tickets will be available for $10 per day and $15 for both days, and matches will be streamed daily at https://www.twitch.tv/mnvl.
